Founded in 1933 by Howard Keith, HK built a reputation for producing high quality upholstered furniture that was sold in prestigious department stores such as Harrods and Heals. The company’s chairs, such as the Encore, Viking, and Simplon, and lounge seating like the Diplomat and Cloud, solidified Howard Keith’s status as one of the country’s leading furniture designers during the 1940s and 1950s.
In the 1970s, HK expanded into high-end conference tables and executive desks and became renowned for its craftsmanship, quality, and design, winning contracts with major prestigious clients such as RMS QE2, The Bank of England, The Stock Exchange, Barclays Bank, and BP. Today, the company continues to specialize in custom-made high-quality executive workwalls, boardroom tables and conference room furniture, but has also added bespoke offerings to the client specifications. Quality bespoke design doesn’t have to be expensive.
