A real challenge set for us recently by our friends at Sketch Studios was to design a twenty four seater curved two tiered seating unit to fill one half of their theatre/activity room, the Dome, originally a ball room.
Getting the radius of the 12m diameter birch ply unit absolutely perfect was essential or the whole look would be ruined, this was not made any easier by a number of fan coil units fitted to the wall.
The padded seats needed to be hinged so they could lift up to provide access to and for storage within.
Installation being on the 5th floor ensured the challenges continued right through to the eventual successful installation.
